PLOT OUTLINE - John Storm, a Blue Shield operative, surveys the sunken city of Alexandria recently disturbed by earthquake, and finds Cleopatra's mummy. At the same time a group of EU funded scientists perfect cloning and DNA altering tech that they claim will allow replication from ancient samples. The richest man in the world, Musket Meloni, acquires nano computer tech, as a tool to join the 'Novus Illuminatum' and challenges them to prove their theory, fronting a sizeable £10 billion dollar 'Wager' secretly planning to steal the tech for himself with help from a crooked CIA operative. But when it works, the CIA kidnap the reincarnated Cleopatra, to experiment on her at Guantánamo Bay, double crossing Meloni, with John Storm in tow, despite being injected with the CRISPR virus at the Illuminatum's secret laboratory. This original short story is a spy thriller, involving industrial espionage, tongue in cheek, with unashamed James Bond overtones.

2ND DRAFT - SAMPLE: CLEOPATRA & THE CURE FOR CANCER (SHORT STORY)

SCENE 1. Cleopatra's tomb lay lost for centuries. Then one day a shift in the tectonic plates triggered a tremor off the coast of Alexandria, causing alarm in Paris.

SCENE 2. As an agent of Blue Shield, John Storm, surveys Egypt's coast off Alexandria, finds Cleopatra's tomb, verified using the Ark and Hal, keeping location a secret, pending salvage and Blue Shield site protections.

SCENE 3.  Flashback Alexandria, the site of Cleopatra’s palace, 30 BC, the combined suicide of Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra. (The destruction of Thonis & Alexandria by a tsunami, sinking the great civilization and port in 365 AD.)

SCENE 4. William Bates auctions his CyberCore Genetica nano-super computer. Secretly purchased by Musket Meloni, the richest man on earth, as undisclosed anonymous sealed bid.

SCENE 5. A team of European scientists, including Franco Francisco, part funded by Horizon Europe and part by NATO, the core cohort of which are secretly [New World Knights-Templar group] members (alternative to Masons) - claim to be able to clone or reincarnate famous people from very old DNA. Replication held to be legal, whereas cloning is not. Though, possible legal ramifications.

SCENE 6. Musket Meloni buys into the cartel, and is welcomed into the 'Novus Illuminatum' (New World Knights [Illustratio Novus]) by offering use of Cybercore Genetica™, one of the core ingredients of the CRISPR virus, a bacterial DNA Cas9 enzyme delivery system, that allows precisely targeted DNA enhancement in adult subjects.

SCENE 7. Charley Temple alerts John Storm to 'Novis Illuminatum,' though John does not quite believe that such an organization could exist in the modern world. But she insists he will become a target, as they are EU funded to find a cure for cancer, and his Ark has the largest DNA collection in the world, now, including that of Cleopatra. The 'Swann' is an autonomous vessel, with onboard AI.

SCENE 8. The 'Novus Illuminatum' cartel attempt to hack into Hal, and the Ark onboard the Elizabeth Swann, trying to steal the Ark, DNA database. Hal's AI shuts them out, automatically. John wonders how they even managed to get that far.

SCENE 9. Meloni challenges Egypt to provide some ancient DNA for EU scientists, throws down the gauntlet to John (in effect), seeking to undermine his salvage rights, to entice him to relinquish a small Cleopatra tissue sample. The carrot is a very large sum of money, $10 billion dollars for Blue Shield and Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities. Unable to resist the money, Egypt's Husani Hassan agrees terms, urging John to do likewise.

SCENE 10. John relents, persuaded by Blue Shield and the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, who say it will not work in any event, so might as well let the scientists have a bash, to obtain the funding. With promises of more aid from Meloni, John is temporarily dazzled by the brilliance and apparent philanthropic gesture of the richest man in the world. Subject to the right to periodically inspect the laboratories of the European Cartel.

SCENE 11. Having taken delivery of a sample of Cleopatra's DNA, and the CyberCore Genetica, the scientists set to work in two teams, developing their revolutionary technology side by side. The CRISPR virus works well to remove cancer from a subject, while other work along these lines enhances a subject, making them virtual superhumans. Homo Sapiens Superior.

SCENE 12. The scientists develop a prototype biological implant, an interface for the human brain, which they call BioCore™. This flexible microchip communicates wirelessly with the CyberCore Genetica, and from there to the internet. Novus Illuminatum keep the human enhancements secret.

SCENE 13. The replication work proceeds, with Cleopatra grown and her brain programmed with her past, to include simulation of her synapse firing sequence, based on the fact she spoke nine languages, and was a mathematician and an accomplished political and military strategist. Other elements are included to soften the culture shock, as the reincarnated queen re-enters life in the 21st century.

SCENE 14. John requests a visit to see the progress for himself, but is given the brush off, and shown a facility that does not seem to have all the equipment necessary to have recreated Cleopatra. Then he is denied access to the subject with various excuses, that do not gel. His suspicions are aroused, and he investigates further with help from Dan (hacking) and Hal.

SCENE 15. Charley persists with her own investigations, agreeing to meet with John, where she thinks the real work is going on in Venice. She is captured, and John has to effect a rescue, with some background help from the CIA's Jack Mason. During the struggle to overpower Charley's captors, John is injected with an experimental CRISPR virus. Dan manages to make off with the CyberCore Genetica and Biocore, equipment, plus a download of all the experimental files. Jack Mason turns a blind eye, at the time.

SCENE 16. From the recovered data, Dan and Hal work out that Cleopatra being held in another facility in Rome. Now with Novus Illuminatum proven to be operating in violation of conditions, John raids their sanctuary just outside the city, rescuing Cleopatra in the process, with Interpol arresting all the wrong people, on suspicion of fraudulent misuse of grant funds.

SCENE 17. Meanwhile, Musket Meloni has done a deal with Jack Mason, to part John Storm form the CRISPR technology, and free Cleopatra, so that his philanthropy has paid off, in an announcement to the world. Meloni wants to showboat with Cleopatra, and commercialize the cure for cancer, while taking control of the replication technology.

SCENE 18. Storm and Meloni are double crossed by Jack Mason, who spirits Cleopatra to the secure US facility at Guantánamo Bay. Having persuaded John to allow US scientists to check the former Egyptian Queen over, in a private hospital in Greece.

SCENE 19 John rescues Cleopatra from Guantánamo Bay in a daring night raid.

SCENE 20 CIA, covertly try to terminate the Swann and crew, including Cleopatra, who is now a witness.

SCENE 21. John does a deal with US President Lincoln Truman, Jack Mason is chastised.

THE ILLUMINATI

Bavarian secret society founded in 1776, organized like the Freemasons. new order was Bund der Perfektibilisten, or Covenant of Perfectibility (Perfectibilists); he later changed it because it sounded too strange. On 1 May 1776, Weishaupt and four students formed the Perfectibilists, taking the Owl of Minerva as their symbol. The members were to use aliases within the society. Weishaupt became Spartacus. Law students Massenhausen, Bauhof, Merz and Sutor became respectively Ajax, Agathon, Tiberius and Erasmus Roterodamus. Weishaupt later expelled Sutor for indolence. In April 1778, the order became the Illuminatenorden, or Order of Illuminati, after Weishaupt had seriously contemplated the name Bee order.

AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT

The Age of Enlightenment or the Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was an intellectual and philosophical movement that occurred in Europe, especially Western Europe, in the 17th and 18th centuries, with global influences and effects. The Enlightenment included a range of ideas centered on the value of human happiness, the pursuit of knowledge obtained by means of reason and the evidence of the senses, and ideals such as natural law, liberty, progress, toleration, fraternity, constitutional government, and separation of church and state.

The Enlightenment was preceded by the Scientific Revolution and the work of Francis Bacon and John Locke, among others. Some date the beginning of the Enlightenment to the publication of René Descartes' Discourse on the Method in 1637, featuring his famous dictum, Cogito, ergo sum ("I think, therefore I am").

NEW WORLD ORDER

The New World Order (NWO) is a conspiracy theory that hypothesizes a secretly emerging totalitarian world government. The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually achieve world domination and rule the world through an authoritarian one-world government - which will replace sovereign nation-states - and an all-encompassing propaganda whose ideology hails the establishment of the New World Order as the culmination of history's progress. Many influential historical and contemporary figures have therefore been alleged to be part of a cabal that operates through many front organizations to orchestrate significant political and financial events, ranging from causing systemic crises to pushing through controversial policies, at both national and international levels, as steps in an ongoing plot to achieve world domination.

Before the early 1990s, New World Order conspiracism was limited to two American countercultures, primarily the militantly anti-government right, and secondarily the part of fundamentalist Christianity concerned with the eschatological end-time emergence of the Antichrist.
